BOW
Have just about finished the torpedo bay with internal suports, and adding in the stern p-hull.

IT’S A BOAT
The hull is together! I have begun on the mid p-hull, just curved sections dropped onto the shelf at the extended saddle tanks. Adding chunky detail: aft reserve torp container, compressed air tanks, exhaust ducting, galley hatch well, etc.

BULL NOSE
The existing bullnose seemed a bit small and too far aft, altho the three semi-good photos I have for reference are all a little different. I rebuilt the nullnose with plastic tubing, and will insert a extra bit of Eduard PE in the top as a tie-down for the rigging.

Embedded two screws through keel from inside, for mounting onto finials (brass knobs drilled from both ends).

RIBS - Long Slot
I have had some trouble with the long slots - I cut them out early to make all access and work easier, and I do not regret that (I couldn’t have built up the saddle tank extensions or the p-hull top as easily with them in place). BUT, bad research on my part made me attach the breakwaters (they would have been off in Oct 41, the date I am depicting), and putting in the PE for the small drains casued some thinning trouble. In the end I have thrown away the side pieces (including the slot ribs I already made) and am making my own from scratch.
I have put in the new ribs first, which is actually laying the groundwork for the side pieces (they will have a shape to follow now). It is all a bit of a pain, but in the end it should look good, and I can’t think of any other way to get the thinness and accuracy.
Cutting in the U-Brass PE and thin strip. It's a pain, especially adding rivets.
DECK DETAILS
While waiting for the long slot bits to dry I dashed in to do some deck work.
NEW
New photos from Dougie prove my ammo hatches wrong - the flat was actually a big lip on the hatch itself. I will be tearing out the open hatch and rebuilding. Grrrrrr!
